To describe the Mariners ' programme of games to the end of the season as fantastic would be putting it mildly . Three games per week is a tall order and if the Mariners can do it and keep in the title race as well , then it will certainly be a feat worth entering in the club's records book . The players deserve all credit due them for their loyalty and all - out effort during these next few weeks ' scramble . Our supporters , on the other hand , can back the club up by turning out in force for this glut of home games and help to swell the club coffers in readiness for next season's venture into the unknown . We welcome Annfield Plain and supporters back to Simonside and pay tribute to the way they have fought against the stronger opposition they have encountered in their first season in Northern Counties ' football , and hope they will be able to carry on with us next season , with their team giving us something to think about .
