EDITORIAL .
We welcome Blyth Spartans to - day , and great interest should be centred in the respective Captains - Doug Wright for Blyth and Bob Owen for the Mariners - both these players played to The gether for several seasons in Lincoln City First Team . clash of these sides should be worth seeing , especially after the great performance put up by our boys at Middlesbrough last Saturday . The team , whilst defeated , gave an outstanding dis play with Hodgson , Walton and Frazer outstanding in defence . Tribute was paid to our boys after the match by Mr. Gibson , Chairman of Middlesbrough F.C. , when he said that he hoped his boys would take a pattern from our ' part - timers . '
We welcome yet another new boy to - day in the middle - Raymond Slater - a tall , well - built youth from Seaton Delavel , who has been scoring freely in the Northern Alliance . Two weeks ago he scored 2 goals against our Reserve Side in a Cup - tie - ( Best of luck to him ) .

It was pleasing to see Eddie Johnson regaining his best form at Middlesbrough and once again making himself a force to be reckoned with in the League .
A word of praise for our Reserve Side . They are fast gaining a reputation away from home as one of the best football sides in the Northern Alliance . In their last three away games high praise has been paid for the quality of football served up by them ( Keep it up football pays ) .
