Although he has not been seen on the foot ball feld , much this season Jimmy Russell of Adelaide A is none the less popular and is a well - known player throughout nearly the whole of Tynéside . 101,4 It is interesting to relate that during the whole of Adelaide's career , from the time when they were mere nippers right up to the attainment of their present noteworthy posi tion , Russell has tendered his valuable ser vices and has been instrumental more or less in the advancement of the club . He first of all came into prominence when he appeared V for Trinity Juniors . After a year's service with that team he threw in his lot with Ade .. laide , who , by the way , were then known as Adelaide Athletid . He has always been look ed upon as a promising star and there is little doubt but that he will be seen on the first team before the season is finished . A tricky player , he plays the unselfish and hcnest game , his smallness of stature lend . ing itself admirably to his tricky tactics . Had he had more height there is no telling where he would have finished . He was seen out last week against Willington North End when his prowess and skill in the game was a valuable adjunct to the home eleven . He is still but a young man although he has been seen on the football field for so many years , and his well - known figure will , I trust , be frequently seen on lie football fiedl for many years to come .
