fupe This photograph was given to me by Patrick Brennan , following repair , it had actually been in two pieces , and was expertly joined and made good . It was found following a house clearance in Leeds in a skip , and came to Patrick's possession via the finder - a friend , who thought that he might find it of interest ! He actually identified it , by recognition of the large trophy , and the knowledge of the club which won it that year , none other than South Shields Adelaide FC !!! By coincidence Patrick is the magazine editor of the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society , of which I am a member . TR me SOUTH SHIELDS ADELAIDE AFC 1905-1906 . Tyneside League Champions and winners of the James Knott Cup and the J. Hunt Shield , also the South Shields and District League by the reserves . Second front row second left is Jack Tinn , later secretary / manager and after 1927 manager of Portsmouth FC until WW11 . Taken at the Horsley Hill Road Ground April 1906 |
