Chronicles of the Chelsea Football Club . ence in their weight , three or four pounds at the most . The South Shields player - hereinafter described as Richard I. , as the lawyers would phrase it - is several years younger than his namesake . TYNE AND TEES . - Both players are from the north east of England . Richard I. is a Tynesider by birth , and Richard II . , that is the Millwall player , of course , first saw the light at Stockton - on - Tees . Richard I. is still quite a youngster - he can scarcely be twenty two yet - but Richard II . was an Army discovery as regards football , and on being demobbed signed for Sunderland , who transferred him to Coventry City ( for £ 1,500 it was said at the time ) in January , 1920. The following October he went to South Shields , for whom he scored three goals in his first game , viz . , against Port Vale . His next move was to Queen's Park Rangers , July , 1922 , and finally to Millwall during the summer of 1924. " Richard I. " had only played for Boldon Com rades prior to signing for Brentford , who transferred him to Shields three months ago . In all the circum stances it is not very surprising to find him being occasionally referred to as having returned " to South Shields . ( ( GALLANT SURVIVORS . -The glorious uncertainty of Cup football is illustrated by the fact that four out of the last eight clubs left in are all more or less in danger of League relegation , while others far above them in the tables have taken the knock - in some in stances a " Round or two before , " in the words of Omar Milton Proprietary Ltd. , JOHN MILTON HOUSE , 125 , Bunhill Row , LONDON , E.C.I. Khayyam . Both Cottagers and Orient have done great deeds in the way of restoring London's waning prestige as Cup - fighters , whatever may happen later . The remark in these columns on the occasion of the Orient's visit , to the effect that beyond their habit of failing against Second Division teams , Newcastle would find the strange surroundings at Homerton an unusually severe handicap was more than justified by the result . " 9 5 " 4 SEMI - FINALS AND EASTER . - The four lucky ones fated to take part in the semi - finals will , without doubt , be heartily hoping for a decision , one way or the other , at the first attempt . The games will be played on the Saturday before Good Friday . With the glut of holiday games confronting them , and a replay on the Wednesday or Thursday , the prospects of another gate " would lose half its charm . And the quite - on - the cards prospect of a second replay - gee whiz ! Would they have to play on Easter Monday ? " FOUR POINTS " UP . " - Compared with last season's results we are at present in possession of a nett gain of four points . The visit to Preston next Saturday affords a possibility of further gain , for the North End take the place of Leicester City , and we had a fruitless journey to Leicester last season . Four points added to our last season's total of 47 would bring us to 51 points scarcely sufficient , perhaps , although present indications are that a slightly smaller total than last year will be reached by the eventual leaders . MILTON Of all Chemists , 1 / - , 1/6 & 2/6 .. 36 Milton cleans false teeth overnight At night put your false teeth into a glass of water and add about half a teaspoonful of Milton . In the morning rinse them under the tap . You will find them spotless . Stains gone . Teeth white . Food particles and grease dissolved . Any gold parts polished . All germs killed . False teeth like this every morning mean mouth - comfort , health , and pure sweet breath . |
